Special Koshukai in London

Hounsai Daisosho and Zabosai Oiemoto have kindly dispatched a member
of the Gyotei from Urasenke in Kyoto to lead the 2010 Special Koshukai
(training) in London on Saturday, 18th and Sunday, 19th September 2010
and lecture-demonstration at the British Museum, BP Theatre on Friday,
17th September 2010 at 2 PM.

Please find below detailed information on the 2010 Special Koshukai,
including location, temae schedule, fee, and application. Application
deadline: Saturday, 31 July 2010.

We would appreciate if Urasenke Branch and Tankokai Association
offices would inform their members of this koshukai.

We recommend that you make a hotel reservation or accommodation
arrangements as early as possible. The Devonport House, which will be
the koshukai venue, is offering a promotional price for the
participants. The promotion will end on 18th June 2010.

Further Information:
1. Gyotei are Urasenke instructors trained in the Urasenke household.
They strive to preserve the Urasenke Chado tradition through strict
practice and passing the tradition down from generation to generation.
Gyotei teach all over Japan and Tankokai Associations abroad. This
will be their first visit in the UK.
2. This Special Koshukai is as the same as training at the Oiemoto’s
household. We are planning to have 3 to 4 students chosen to receive
guidance from the Gyotei. The other students will observe keiko.
3. The Gyotei lecture’s subject will be decided by the Gyotei taking
in account the students suggestions.
4. For the 19 September Gyo-no-Gyo keiko, please wear montsuki, hakama
or jyutoku.
